Deadline for NPO funding proposals extended

The deadline for NPOs to apply for funding for social welfare and community development services in the province, has been extended by two weeks.

Qualifying organisations now have until Friday, 29 September 2023 at 4pm to submit their funding proposals to the Western Cape Department of Social Development.

The proposals must be in line with specifications provided by the various departmental programmes.

Applications can be made online, sent via email, or delivered to the Department’s Head Office. NPOs must submit a completed standardised application form, with all of the specified supporting documents. The proposals will be assessed, and applicants notified of the outcomes.

Funding to successful organisations will commence on 1 April 2024.

It is important to note that the programme specifications for Older Persons excludes residential, independent and assisted living facilities, while the programme specifications for Persons with Disabilities excludes residential facilities and protective workshops.

A separate call for proposals for residential, independent and assisted living facilities for Older Persons, and residential facilities and protective workshops Persons with Disabilities will be issued in the latter half of 2024.
