Minister Fritz to Meet with Overberg Safety Stakeholders

Tomorrow, the Minister of Community Safety, Albert Fritz, will be hosting a workshop on the Provincial Needs and Priorities (PNP) and Safety Plan of the Overberg region.

Representatives from the following organisations will be in attendance: SAPS, district and local municipalities, Community Policing Forums, private security agencies and the SANDF, to name a few.

The following will be discussed:

• Provincial and district safety priorities;
• Local government’s safety mandate and district crime trends;
• The need for early warning systems and mediation; and
• Determination of policing needs and priorities and review of an integrated safety plan for the Overberg.

Time: 8:30 (for 8:45am) – 14:30  

Venue: Recreational Hall, Helderstroom Correctional Facility, Caledon
