Media Alert: Minister Grant to Visit Site of New Technical High School

Tomorrow, Western Cape Education Minister Donald Grant will be doing a site inspection at the new Northpine Technical High School in Brakenfell. The school will be one of 11 new schools to open at the beginning of 2012 and will be one of five technical high schools in the province.

The school will specialise in technical subjects such as mechanical technology, electrical technology and civil technology, as well as engineering, graphics and design.

The minister will be inspecting the new building and will be introduced to the new acting principal of the school to determine how preparations are going in terms of enrolment and the provision of learning materials, equipment and furniture.

Technical schools are extremely valuable to this government as they provide important educational opportunities in study fields such as electrical and mechanical technology.

Directions:
Take the N1 from the city centre, take the Okavango off-ramp and turn right, cross the bridge, then at second robot turn left. At the next first robot, turn right into Northpine Drive. At the second stop street, you will see a sign saying GB Construction, turn right - school will be at end of this road.
