City to Launch Air Quality Management Plan

The City of Cape Town will launch its Air Quality Management Plan on Wednesday, 12 April 2006, in Kraaifontein. The purpose of the plan is to ensure that clean air is achieved and maintained in the city over the next 10 to 20 years. Mayoral Committee Member for Health Services, Councillor Martin Fienies, will officiate.

The launch will be preceded by the unveiling of the ICLEI/USAID sponsored air quality monitor. This will be an excellent photo opportunity.

These proceedings will be followed by a formal launch programme, including a presentation on the Air Quality Management Plan.
