Western Cape Government to sign R20 million broadband agreement

Joint Media Alert: Western Cape Government, U.S. Consulate General and U.S. Trade and Development Agency to sign R20 million broadband agreement

On Tuesday, 3 May 2022, the Premier of the Western Cape, Alan Winde, the. U.S. Consul General, Todd Haskell, and the U.S. Trade and Development Agency's (USTDA) Regional Director for Sub-Saharan Africa, Heather Lanigan, will officially sign the R20 million broadband feasibility study agreement.

The study aims to look at solutions to bridge the digital divide and strengthen internet access in marginalised and rural communities. This will bolster the Western Cape Government’s broadband infrastructure by providing affordable high-speed broadband networks throughout the province.
