On Wednesday, 18 September, Premier Helen Zille will launch the Western Cape Design Strategy to be revealed at the upcoming Premier’s Council on Skills (PCS) meeting. The PCS is comprised of representatives from government, higher education institutions and businesses, and works to identify skills, gaps in high-growth potential economic sectors of the Western Cape economy and to foster public-private partnerships that drive demand-led skills development to meet these needed skills.
The workshop aims to raise awareness among stakeholders of how design can be applied to improve business competitiveness and will showcase projects that support design development in the province. The Design Strategy will outline how the Western Cape will be positioned as a recognised leader in providing design-led products, services and solutions, such as the recently announced Better Living Challenge
