MEC Fritz to launch Girl Child Programme

The Girl Child Project will kick off this week, 6 December, with a workshop to empower young girls who are currently in foster care. The programme aims to help young girls from disadvantaged backgrounds to develop their sense of confidence and their independence.

This programme has had many generous partners including Karen Burt from Inspired Stages, Grand West Casino and Entertainment World. It will host motivational speakers including:

-       Vivian kleynhans - Owner of the Seven Sisters Vineyard

-       Jill Levenberg – Actress from Ellen Packies

-       Chelsea Goliath  - Mitchells Plain poet

There will also be a wellness programme by Helen Cyster, a confidence building session by the Mitchells Plain Youth Café I AM PASSION, and a workshop on saving money by Debby Arendse from Old Mutual.

Date: Thursday, 6 December 2018

Time: 7:30 for 8:00, until 16:00

Venue: Seven Sister Vineyards, Annandale Road, Stellenbosch, 7600

There will be an opportunity for photograph and interviews.
