Department to sign service MOU with Saldanha Bay Municipality

Tomorrow (03 April 2017 ), Western Cape Social Development MEC, Adv. Albert Fritz, will sign a memorandum of understanding with the Mayor of Saldanha Bay, Cllr. Marius Koen.

Saldanha Municipality is experiencing rapid population growth due to the economic development brought on by the development of the Industrial Development Zone. This is placing pressure on our services, which requires us to build partnerships and adopt a whole-of-society approach to service delivery.

The memorandum will set out our partnership in delivering key social services in the area. The MOU structures our relationship with regards to responding to the most vulnerable segments of society in Saldanha, such as children, people with disabilities and older persons.

The MEC and Mayor will be joined by the Department’s West Coast Regional Director, Dr. Lynette Roussouw, and the Saldanha Municipal Manager, Mr. Loius Scheepers.

There will be opportunities for interviews and photographs.
