Minister Plato takes safety outreach and opportunities to Browns Farm, Philippi

Tomorrow, Thursday 28 April 2016, Western Cape Minister of Community Safety, Dan Plato, will conduct an extensive safety outreach in Browns Farm, Philippi.

As part of the outreach, Minister Plato, accompanied by the South African Police Service (SAPS) will conduct a walkabout aimed at educating our communities about the Prevention of Organised Crime Act (POCA) and engage with the communities about their safety concerns.

Minister Plato, together with officials from the Department of Community Safety, will also engage with the youth, and those working with youth, in Browns Farm, as part of ongoing youth focused safety outreaches in the afternoon.

Furthermore, Minister Plato will be handing over a Safety Kiosk to one of our safety partners, the Violence Prevention through Urban Upgrading (VPUU), in the Gugulethu and Nyanga area.

There will be an opportunity for photographs and interviews.
