Closure of Clinics During Unrest in De Doorns

7 November 2012

Due to the current protest action in De Doorns, Western Cape Government Health in the Cape Winelands has closed the following three clinics:

  • Sandhills
  • Orchard
  • De Doorns Community Day Centre

The Department apologises for any inconvenience caused as a result of the closure, but has to ensure the safety of both staff working at and patients attending these facilities.

The clinics will remain closed until further notice. Communities will be informed as soon as the clinics have reopened. Staff who work in these facilities have been deployed to other health facilities in Worcester. The Department is liaising with SAPS on a daily basis and will reopen clinics as soon as it is deemed safe for staff to return to work.
