This sub-programme supports major projects and initiatives that help drive economic growth, attract investment, and create jobs in the Western Cape.
It focuses on strategic interventions that strengthen the province's economic infrastructure and improve its ability to compete in local and global markets. This includes support for Special Economic Zones (SEZs), trade and logistics infrastructure, and industrial development initiatives that create an enabling environment for businesses to invest and grow.
The sub-programme also supports catalytic projects that unlock new opportunities across sectors and regions, helping to stimulate economic activity and encourage private sector investment.
By investing in infrastructure and strategic development initiatives, the Western Cape is better positioned to attract investment, improve connectivity, support business growth, and build a more resilient economy for the future.

Cape Catalyst
The unit supports economic growth in the Western Cape by identifying and driving high-impact projects that create jobs and attract investment. It works with partners across government and business to turn opportunities into real outcomes for communities.
Port of Cape Town and Logistics
The Port of Cape Town is a key hub for trade and economic activity in the Western Cape. It supports a range of functions, including container handling, ship repairs and related logistics services that help move goods efficiently in and out of the region.
Special Economic Zones (SEZ's)
Special Economic Zones (SEZs) support infrastructure development and stimulate economic growth by offering favourable regulations to attract foreign direct investment (FDI).
