Mentor Development | Apprenticeship For Employers

The Mentorship programme offered by the Western Cape Department of Economic Development and Tourism focuses on up-skilling and empowering workplace mentors to support artisanal or other occupational learners. The programme focuses on providing experienced or qualified employees with soft skills in mentoring and coaching.

The current norms and standards require Employers to have certified Mentors in place to support apprentices in order to for their work placement programmes to be approved and certified.  The DEDAT Mentorship development programme will therefore assist Employers to offer more workplace based learning opportunities.

The programme is also aimed at qualified artisans and people qualified in priority skilled occupations in the workplace who are interested in becoming potential designated mentors to learners being trained in the workplace.

If you are interested in your employees becoming Mentors, and being trained by DEDAT, you can sign up here.
