The Peter Clarke Art Centre - Newlands

The Peter Clarke Art Centre offers both visual arts and design subjects in accordance with the WCED FET curriculum. About 200 grade 10 to 12 learners from over 50 schools in Cape Town attend classes at the centre. The classes are taught by specialist teachers and take place in the afternoon, after the regular school day. Learners have access to an excellent resource centre. 

Peter Clarke Art Centre offers the following subjects:

• Painting and mixed media
• Drawing
• Darkroom , and digital photography
• Visual culture studies (compulsory for all visual arts options)
• Product design
• Surface design
• Communication design
• Design in context (compulsory for all design options).
