RETHINKING TOURISM

World Tourism Day will be held on 27 September 2022. As the sector's recovery gets underway and building on unprecedented political and public recognition for the sector, the United National World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), will highlight the opportunity to rethink how we do tourism. This means putting people and the planet first by bringing everyone from government, businesses and local communities together around a shared vision for a more sustainable, inclusive and resilient sector.

If you think you've seen it all in the Western Cape, we have hidden gems waiting to be discovered. They're almost on your doorstep, so take another look, and discover more. We would like to encourage locals from the Western Cape and tourists from other provinces to get out and about, explore and enjoy the attractions and activities that this beautiful province has to offer - "be a tourist in your own backyard".
