WCPO visited by the Human Rights Commissioner

22 May 2017

On 22 May 2017 Advocate Vusi Pikoli and the Head of office, Ms Nadia Arabi, had the privilege of meeting with Mr Lotz, the newly appointed Provincial Manager of the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) for the Western Cape.

The WCPO often receives complaints which are strongly linked to allegations of the violation of human rights.

The opportunity was used to build stakeholder relations so that the SAHRC and the WCPO co-ordinate and refer complaints via the correct channels.  Adocate Pikoli and Mr. Lotz discussed the mandate of their respective offices, and jointly plotted the way forward in respect of dealing with overlapping issues in future.  The fruitful engagement was enjoyed by all and the WCPO looks forward to future interactions such as this.
