Notice of Investigation - News | Western Cape Police Ombudsman

Notice of Investigation

3 June 2019

A complaint from the Overstrand area, has culminated in the Western Cape Police Ombudsman calling for public comment in the local and mainstream papers as well as a notice in the Provincial Gazette.

To date, the WCPO has received an influx of submissions from Gansbaai, Kleinmond, Hermanus and surrounding areas.  We are thankful to all those who have taken the time to write to our office.    The vast majority of complaints are linked to abalone poaching and a general lack of resources in the Overstrand policing cluster.

The Ombudsman plans to hold public meetings within the Overstrand area, to obtain more feedback from communities, particularly those who have not had access to print media and email facilities.  Our office will be visiting the following areas on the dates herein below.
