Taking Budget to the People- Overstrand

Taking budget to the people recently came to Overstrand Municipality when Minister Meyer accompanied by Provincial Treasury officials, Malcolm Booysen, Dian Cronje and Elton addressed the full council of the Overstrand Municipality.

 During the address Minister Meyer confirmed that Provincial government will be transferring approximately R1.3b to the Overstrand Municipality over the next three years. An amount of  R465m will be spent on the completion and /or upgrades at Qhayiya Secondary School  and Masakhane and Hawston Primary Schools.

Further upgrades are also planned for Hermanus Community Day Centre and the Gansbaai Clinic. A number of road upgrades will also occur over the next three years.

Commenting on the Minister's visit Exective Mayor Alderman Nicolette Botha-Guthrie and Speaker, Alderman Anton Coetzee expressed their gratitude towards the Minister for an initiative which marks "the first time in their experience"   that they the Council is addressed by a Provincial Minister.
