Safely Home’s road safety plans ahead of busy Easter period

Donald Grant, Minister of Transport and Public Works and the Department’s Provincial Traffic Chief will brief the media on the 2017 Safely Home Provincial Easter Operational Plan on 6 April.

The plan will outline the planned interventions over this upcoming Easter weekend, to improve safety on our roads for the thousands that will be travelling over this infamously busy period.

Minister Grant and the Traffic Chief will be:

  • Releasing statistics on recent concerning road trends,
  • releasing fatality stats relating to past Easter periods, and
  • announcing new interventions specifically targeted at addressing reckless and negligent driving.

All media are invited and welcome to attend. There will be an opportunity for interviews and photographs. Please indicate if you will be in attendance.
