Roadworks update for the KKNK

20 March 2019

Motorists travelling to the upcoming Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees (KKNK) are advised that TR75/1 (the N12) between Oudtshoorn and George, and TR1/2 (the N9) between George and Uniondale, will be open to two-way traffic from 21 March to 31 March 2019. Certain sections of these roads will have delineators on the shoulders to protect some of the works. A traffic safety officer will be on patrol.

Motorists are also reminded of the following Department of Transport and Public Works road infrastructure projects, and to plan their trips accordingly.

George to Oudtshoorn: The first 18 km from the N9 turnoff on the Oudtshoorn side is currently under construction. While this section will be open to two-way traffic along its entire length, there will be road hazards and additional speed limits.

Calitzdorp to Oudtshoorn: The last 24 km of the R62 on the Oudtshoorn side is currently under construction. While this section will be open to two-way traffic along its entire length, there will be road hazards and additional speed limits.

De Rust to Oudtshoorn: The entire length of this section of the N12 is under construction and three stop/go control sections will be in operation during the KKNK. In addition, there will be road hazards and additional speed limits.

Cango Caves to Oudtshoorn: There are no construction activities on this section of the R328.

We thank all road users for their cooperation and patience.
