19 February 2020

The Minister of Community Safety, Albert Fritz, has welcomed the arrest of Moehydien Pangaker on Monday evening at Cradock station, Eastern Cape. Minister Fritz has reiterated that a R10 000 reward will be made to anyone with information on Tazne’s whereabouts.

Tazne van Wyk went missing on Friday 7 February 2020 whilst reportedly walking to the shops. Pangaker is a person of interest in the missing person’s case, as he is suspected to be the last person to have seen Tazne. To date, Tazne’s whereabouts remain unknown.

Minister Fritz said, “The conditions of the reward have been amended from information that leads to the location of Tazne and the suspect; to information which leads to the location of Tazne only. It essential that we find Tazne.”

Minister Fritz said, “My Department will provide a R10 000 reward to anyone with positive information on the location of Tazne which is confirmed by the SAPS. Reports can be made by call, WhatsApp or SMS to 078 330 9333. Alternatively, you can email Police.Oversight@westerncape.gov.za. No reports have been made to date.”

Minister Fritz added, “I welcome the arrest of Moehydien Pangaker on Monday night and commend the SAPS on their investigation which led to the arrest of the suspect in the Eastern Cape. Tazne has been missing for nearly two weeks. It is essential that we bring her home and restore calm to her family and community during this time of great uncertainty.”
