Premier Zille and Minister Plato to Brief Media on New Liquor Regulations

Premier, Helen Zille, and Minister of Community Safety, Dan Plato, will brief the media on the latest development in the fight against Alcohol Harms in the Western Cape today.

Premier Zille and Minister Plato are set to sign the new provincial Liquor Regulations, to take effect on 1 June 2017, following Cabinet’s approval today.

The new Liquor Regulations take the toughest stance to date against the irresponsible and illegal sale of liquor which contributes to alcohol related harms in the province.

The implementation of the regulations will play a major role in the Alcohol Harms Reduction Game Changer in the Western Cape, led by the Department of Community Safety.

There will be opportunities for photographs and interviews.
