Premier Helen Zille to welcome 2017 PAY interns

Tomorrow, 7 April 2017, Premier Helen Zille will officially welcome the 2017 Premier’s Advancement of Youth (PAY) Project interns. The initiative, launched in 2012, creates opportunities for matriculants to gain workplace experience in Government.

The PAY internship, which will run from 7 April 2017 to 31 March 2018, will provide the matriculants with access to mentoring, career guidance, on the job training and a general exposure to skills training in one of our 13 provincial departments.

Since inception, the programme has provided 3 700 internships to young people. This year an additional R27 million has been made available for the project.

Tomorrow, Premier Zille will address close to 600 interns who have been selected to participate in the 2017 programme.
