One Chief Director retires, another takes his place

5 August 2020

On Friday 31 July 2020 Kenneth Africa, Chief Director: Traffic Management, retired after 46 years of public service.

Mr Africa

For many years Mr Africa was synonymous with “Traffic” in the Western Cape. He was a prominent advocate of safer roads in a range of public media. But now the time has arrived for him to take a rest from the busy highways and byways of our provincial roads. We wish him a well-deserved rest from his daily routine in blue, and much joy as he spends more time with his loved ones and friends.

We welcome Farrel Payne in his new post of Acting Chief Director: Traffic Management.

Mr Payne

Mr Payne is well known in traffic circles, and has held a range of senior posts, including Director: Traffic Training and Development and Director: Traffic Law Enforcement. We wish him all the best on the road ahead.
