New Year's Babies 2014

Western Cape Government Health is proud to announce the birth of 151 babies in public health facilities throughout the Western Cape on New Year's Day 2014.

The number included 70 boys and 81 girls. One hundred and five of these babies were born in the Cape Town Metropole and 46 babies were born in the rural districts.

The number also included two sets of twins respectively born at Macassar MOU and George Hospital.

Mowbray Maternity Hospital had the most New Year's babies with 26 babies (15 girls and 11 boys) born there yesterday.

Our first babies were born at 00:02 - one baby boy was born at Tygerberg Hospital weighing 3.29kg and 57cm in length; while the other baby boy was born at Ceres Hospital weighting 2.86kg and 51cm in length.

The first girl was born at 00:05 at New Somerset Hospital weighting 3.1kg and 51cm in length.
