Minister Fritz expresses condolences at Gen. Mfazi’s passing

Today, the Minister of Community Safety in the Western Cape, Adv. Albert Fritz, expresses shock and sadness at the untimely passing yesterday of the Deputy-National Police Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Sindile Mfazi.

Minister Fritz said, “on behalf of the Department of Community Safety in the Western Cape, I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to Gen. Mfazi’s family, colleagues, and friends in this time of loss. I would like to assure them of our thoughts and prayers. He was a good man.”

Premier Alan Winde said, “it is with a very heavy heart that I have learnt of the passing of the Deputy-National Commissioner, Lieutenant-General, Sindile Mfazi. I send my condolences to his family, fellow officers, and loved ones at this difficult time. The Western Cape Government has always enjoyed a very productive relationship with Lt. Gen. Mfazi, and his presence in the SAPS leadership will be sorely missed.”­
