Today, the Western Cape Minister of Social Development will continue the Department’s ECD Hygiene & Drought campaign at the Noluthando Pre-School in Langa.
The campaign is part of the Department’s efforts to raise awareness regarding the importance on maintaining proper hygiene practices even throughout this crippling drought and cold winter months.
Even as we look to reduce our water usage at ECD facilities, good hygiene habits must be maintained. Disease outbreaks, such as the current national listeriosis outbreak, can be made worse if good hygiene is not practiced.
The MEC will be joined by our NGO partner, Al-Imdaad, which has generously joined the Department in providing hygiene packs to be dispensed to crèches across the province.
There will be opportunities for interviews and photographs.
