Minister Bonginkosi Madikizela To Visit Paarl's Fire Victims

On Thursday, 3rd January, Western Cape Human Settlements Minister Bonginkosi Madikizela will visit victims of the fire in Mbekweni Informal Settlement, Paarl. The fire broke out on Wednesday where 100 informal structures were damaged in the blaze, leaving more than 450 homeless.

The Drakenstein Municipality has been clearing the area of rubble and debris, and providing interim aid to the victims. The Department of Human Settlements, together with the Municipality, will proceed with resettling efforts today.

There will be opportunities for photographs and interviews.
