Military Veterans to Receive Homes In Eerste River Housing Project

16 March 2017

Today, Friday 17 March 2017, the National Minister of Human Settlements Lindiwe Sisulu and Western Cape Human Settlements Minister, Bonginkosi Madikizela will hand over 10 houses to military veterans in the province’s Eerste River Military Veterans Housing Project.

In recognising and honouring South Africa’s military veterans for their sacrifices and contribution to the nation, the government has committed to providing various support services, including housing, to this group. The Eerste River Military Veterans Housing Project is one of the initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life of military veterans.

The project will comprise a total of 73 residential units, specifically designed to meet the needs of military veterans. Construction on the project commenced in 2016 and thus far 20 units have been completed, with some already occupied. The project is due to be completed at the end of May 2017.
