MEDIA ALERT: Minister Plato to lead extensive safety outreach in Avian Park, Worcester

Tomorrow, Monday 3 April 2017, Western Cape Minister of Community Safety, Dan Plato, will lead an extensive Safety Outreach by the Western Cape Government and our safety partners in Avian Park, Worcester.

Following a recent visit to Avian Park, Minister Plato committed to coming back to the neighbourhood with a full service offering from the Department of Community Safety and other safety stakeholders.

Minister Plato will be joined in Avian Park tomorrow by representatives from the Breede Valley Municipality, South African Police Service, Western Cape Department of Social Development, -Education, -Cultural Affairs and Sport, Department of Correctional Services and non-governmental organisations who will all work together with the community in improving safety within the community.

Through the Safety Outreach, Minister Plato hopes to build better relationships between the community and the police through promotion of all safety entities and various Departmental programmes, such as the Neighbourhood Watch accreditations, Walking Bus initiatives, Northlink study bursary programmes, Chrysalis Academy and Youth Safety and Religious Partnership programme.

There will be an opportunity for photographs and interviews.
