Media Alert: Update on EMS Rescue Call at Maclears Beacon, Table Mountain - 30 November 2011
Western Cape Government Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a rescue yesterday, 30 November 2011, at Maclears Beacon, Table Mountain.
30 November 2011 at 13:10 - Rescuers searched and medically attended to a 22-year-old University of Cape Town (UCT) student who was found dehydrated and suffering from hyperthermia. A team of three EMS rescue technicians, five SANParks rangers and a private paramedic responded to the call. She was treated and walked down by the team to the parking area. The patient was in a good condition and did not require further medical attention. The rescue took four hours to complete.
