Media Alert: Premier Zille to Sign into Law the Business Interests Of Employees Bill on the Eve of International Anti-Corruption Day

Today, Premier Helen Zille will sign into law the Business Interests of Employees Bill recently passed by the Western Cape provincial legislature.

The Bill introduces new rules that will restrict provincial government employees from doing business with the provincial government and require every employee to disclose their business interests.

The Premier will be signing the Bill on the eve of International Anti-Corruption Day where governments are called to take responsibility for rooting out corruption and to implement a plan of action in this regard. The Business Interests of Employees Bill is part of our government's plan of action to curb corruption and cronyism in the public service.
