14 August 2010

Due to increased law enforcement efforts Provincial Traffic Services manage to get fifty five (55) drunk drivers safely off the road, we also arrested a motorist for having twenty five (25) mandrax tablets in his possession, and a motorist for having a big money bag full of dagga.

Provincial traffic Services had several roadblocks throughout the province over the weekend. Vehicles were checked for roadworthiness and drivers for driving licences and to see if they were drunk.

During these operations two thousand six hundred and seventy four (2674) vehicles were stopped, one thousand five hundred and seventy seven (1577) drivers were screened for alcohol use and one thousand and nine (1009) fines were issued.

Provincial Traffic Law Enforcement officials were out on full force and will continue with these operations, till we have compliance with traffic laws.

Note: Please act responsibly so everybody can arrive "Safely Home."
