16 Days of Activism - Minister Plato Launches Western Cape Government’s Campaign

23 November 2013

Tomorrow, Saturday, 23 November 2013, Dan Plato, Western Cape Minister of Community Safety, will launch the Western Cape Government’s 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children campaign in Bredasdorp.

The campaign will be focusing on the role of the family with the message “safety starts in your family,” and will highlight a number of services provided by the Western Cape Government that are available all year, and not just during the campaign period.

Minister Plato will be hosting public meetings across the province over the 16 days.

The 16 days campaign provides the Western Cape Government, civil society, NGOs and members of the public with an opportunity to shine a light on the on-going violence against women and children and the importance of partners taking care of each other and parents taking responsibility for their children as well as informing citizens of their rights and the services available to prevent abuse and seek treatment and counselling.
