Western Cape shines at 2025 National Skills Competition

The Western Cape delivered an outstanding performance at the prestigious 2025 National Skills Competition, hosted by the Sasol Foundation and Kagiso Trust.
Teachers from the province earned nine awards, including five first-place wins, while learners claimed five podium finishes with one first-, two second- and two third-place positions.
Participants from all nine provinces showcased their talents in real-world, industry-relevant tasks across disciplines such as Automotive, Welding, CAD, Electronics, Plumbing, Woodworking, and more.
Nathan Joseph, Senior Curriculum Planner at the Western Cape Education Department, praised the team’s commitment. “From 8–9 October 2025, our learners and teachers gave their all. Their work was of high quality and reflected true commitment,” he said. The competition concluded with a celebratory gala, where the Western Cape proudly claimed multiple accolades.
