Outcome of the Grades R, 1 and 8 applications will be displayed on the WCED admissions site on 30 May 2025.
Parents have until 17 June 2025 to confirm acceptance.

Grade R, 1 & 8 applications
Parents | Guardians MUST upload the following certified supporting documents:
- Identification (any of the following):
- Identity document (ID) / birth certificate (learner)
- Foreign learners: a passport / a copy of parent’s refugee or asylum seeker permit on which the learner’s name should appear
- If the learner of foreign parents was born in South Africa (SA): a handwritten birth certificate (DHA 19 form).
- If the learner was not born in SA: a passport/a refugee or asylum seeker permit issued in the learner’s name.
- Immunisation card / Road to Health chart (pre-primary and primary schools only)
- Latest official school / academic report of learner
- Proof of residence e.g. rates account / lease agreement / an affidavit made at a police station confirming residence
School admissions:
- Apply to at least 3 schools (Including the ones closest to your home)
- Indicate your order of preference on the system

Learner Transfers | Grades 2-7 and Grades 9-12
Applications for transfer requests for Grades 2-7 and Grades 9-12 open on 4 August 2025.
Transfer applications must be done online.
Parents or caregivers will be required to fill out the online form and submit the following relevant supporting documentation:
- The last school report card;
- ID, birth certificate, passport, study permit or proof of application or police affidavit; and
- Proof of address or police affidavit.

On-Time Applications
Admission appeals for on-time applications for Grades R, 1, and 8 open on 1 August 2025 and close on 31 August 2025.
Late Applications
Admission appeals for late applications for Grades R, 1 and 8 are open for 30 calendar days from 1 August 2025 or the date of the outcome of the application, whichever is later.
