Western Cape athletes break records at National Autumn Games

Two Western Cape athletes stood out at the 2025 National School Sports Championships Autumn Games in Bloemfontein.
Aidan Erasmus from Curro Mossel Bay claimed gold medals in shot put and discus throw while breaking national records in both events. He was crowned LSEN Field Victor Ludorum 2025!
Meanwhile, Faith Jacobs from Florida School of Skills sprinted to success, winning gold in the 100m and 200m, and contributing to a record-breaking 4x100m relay team. She was named LSEN's top female track athlete!
The Departments of Basic Education and Sport, Arts and Culture hosted the Autumn Games from 2 to 5 April 2025, at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein.
Learners selected from all provinces competed in both High School and Learners with Special Education Needs (LSEN) Schools Athletics and Swimming Championships.
The Western Cape’s LSEN team claimed first position, the high school team obtained second place and the province’s swim team finished in third place.
