Warming hearts and homes: Koos Sadie Primary School's Blanket Drive
21 May 2025
On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, Koos Sadie Primary School in Goodwood played host to a special event that warmed the hearts of everyone involved.
Good Hope FM broadcasted their breakfast show from the school premises in partnership with the Community Chest of Goodwood.
The event was part of the school's annual blanket drive and food collection initiative, which aims to collect blankets and non-perishable food items for those in need. The school's values of caring and kindness are at the forefront of this initiative, and their head leaders and prefects worked tirelessly to organise the event.
During the live broadcast, the principal, Estelle Rossouw, and departmental head, O'Ryan Julius, shared insights into the school's values and the importance of giving back to the community. The head boy, Jonathan Omari, and head girl, Mia Abrahams, also got to share their experiences and excitement about being part of this special event.
Representatives from Meals on Wheels were present during the live show. They will be receiving the blankets and food items collected from the learners, which will go a long way in making a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
Mrs. Rossouw thanked Good Hope FM for inviting them to be part of their breakfast show and for helping to spread the word about their initiative. “We truly believe that caring for and reaching out to people in need, brings upon true happiness for both the receiver and giver.”
