From trials to triumph: Grade 12 learners step into the final exam arena

29 September 2025

With trial exams behind them, thousands of Grade 12 learners across the province are preparing for their final exams, from 21 October to 26 November 2025. This marks the culmination of years of hard work, supported by dedicated teachers, tutors and officials.

From intensive revision sessions to comprehensive support materials, every effort has been made to ensure our matrics are equipped for success.

Nearly 22 000 learners participated in the #BackOnTrack Winter School programme held across all eight education districts during the mid-year holidays. These sessions provided targeted academic support and helped learners consolidate key concepts. Additional revision classes are scheduled for the Spring school holidays in October, and weekend sessions have been running throughout the third term.

Learners also received the Matric Support booklet, packed with past papers, exam timetables, study tips and post-school guidance. The Tips for Success booklet offers advice on effective studying, wellness and insights from past matrics.

Digital resources—including past papers, video lessons, and study guides—are available on the WCED website and ePortal.

Learners needing support can reach out via school staff or the Safe Schools Hotline: 0800 45 46 47 (toll free).

Good luck to the Class of 2025. Your future is bright and we believe in you!
