Pinelands learner earns bronze at African Wrestling Championships

The 18-year old Grade 12 learner earned third place in the 77kg category. He will now compete in the World Championships in Serbia during September 2020.

Wrestling runs in the family. Abdul’s 21-year old brother, Hamed, a former Table View High learner, was also part of the SA team that took part in Algeria. Hamed won a bronze medal in the 63kg category.

South Africa won three gold, four silver and twelve bronze medals at the championships.
