Western Cape Provincial NPO Dialogue

On 19 and 20 June 2012, the Provincial Minister for Social Development together with the National Minister for Social Development hosted a dialogue with the NPO sector.

The initiative formed part of the National Department of Social Development campaign to create a platform for NPOs to engage the Department. Each provincial Department of Social Development was requested to:

The objectives of the dialogue was:

• Host regional dialogue session with funded NPOs
• Work in partnership with the National Development Agency
• Organise and co-host a provincial dialogue session
• Organise visits to key NPOs for the national minister and provincial MEC
• Support a provincial delegation to the national NPO summit to be held in August 2012
• To share experiences, successes and challenges that exists currently in the NPOs with the Minister and Provincial MECs
• To establish a platform for interaction between NPO officials and office bearers to discuss matters of mutual concern with the Minister and Government officials
• To analyze and determine jointly the threats and opportunities that exists in the sector
• The funds have gone towards a state of the art hot water system at the facility.

On 19 June 2012 the Provincial MEC for Social Development Albert Fritz welcomed National Department of Social Development Minister Bathabile Dlamini and Deputy Minister Maria Ntuli at Chrysalis Academy visit.	On 20 June 2012 the MEC for Social Development Albert Fritz welcomed and addressed the Western Cape NPO dialogue.
