During 2015 the Western Cape Provincial Cabinet agreed that an alcohol-related harms reduction policy should be developed to guide the Western Cape Government’s approach to the regulation of alcohol. This policy considers the emphasis of the the current legislative framework, where legislation largely relates to regulating the activities of licensing and enforcement of the production, distribution and sale of alcohol.
