Follow-up survey to September report, which details the role of municipalities in implementing language regulations. This study looks at how municipalities should address: policy decisions on language policy and planning; use and promotion of trilingualism; existing external and internal oral and written language usage; the question of language usage and preferences of their residents and employees; the utilisation of language resources such as translators and interpreters; language barriers; encouraging the use of Xhosa, Khoi and San languages and Sign Language.

From 31 July 2006 to 3 August 2006 a cold front which passed through the Western and Southern Cape resulted in heavy rain and flooding from Montagu to Storms River and the Eastern Cape. This report contains the Cabinet Submissions whereby the Department of Local Government reported the implications and the estimated losses for the disaster event.
