Governance and Institutional Support: Overview
The Chief Directorate Governance and Institutional Support aims to promote effective and efficient municipalities.
It heads the following sections:

Directorate: Monitor and Support
Directorate: Legislation
Directorate: Community Development
Functions:
- Promote good governance and effective inter- and intra government integration.
- Monitor the overall wellness/viability of municipalities and provide management and specialised support.
- Ensure legislative clarity by providing guidance and support to the Department and municipalities
- Manage, facilitate, co-ordinate and secure the community development workers programme effectively and efficiently in the Western Cape province.
