Would you like to make a difference by promoting the health and wellness of your local community, of your colleagues and/or local school? If yes, then join the WoW! healthy lifestyle initiative and become a Champion – an agent for change! WoW! offers exciting volunteer partnering opportunities for you!

Become a WoW! Champion and start a WoW! Club!

By becoming a volunteer WoW! Champion, you’ll receive free training and support from experts to increase your knowledge and skills about health and the importance of healthy lifestyle actions. You will receive basic portable equipment (including a scale, exercise matts, skipping ropes, distance meter and healthy recipes) to start a WoW! Club in order to promote and activate healthy habits (for example regular physical activities and healthy eating discussions or fun competitions). Your volunteer WoW! Club participants could be family members, friends, community members and/or your work colleagues. So, if you are 18 years or older, motivated and committed to change behaviour (of self and others) towards a healthier lifestyle, then please find out more about the application process below and much more.

Start a WoW! Wednesday event with your community!

WoW! Wednesday promotes regular physical activity and offers a range of FUN and FREE events for public participation - to be enjoyed by all! Everyone is encouraged to join in – it is not just for WoW! participants! Events offered and enjoyed by the public to date included: Tai Chi, Tae Bo, Zumba, Aerobics, Boot Camp, Swing Dancing, Self Defence and Dance Fusion! Additional planned events comprise Yoga, Pilates, Line Dancing, Freestyle Dancing, Back Care, Group Walking and Basic Training for Running. 

This active public movement is being tested in open spaces in Cape Town City Centre with the aim of implementing it at a range of settings across the Metro and the Western Cape. So please contact us if you are interested in starting a WoW! Wednesday public movement in your local community where you live and/or work - for Healthy Actions that are FUN and FREE!
