#BudgetWithDeidre: Residents invited to share their tips for the 2026 Western Cape Budget

11 February 2026

On Thursday, 12 March 2026, the Western Cape Minister of Finance, Deidré Baartman, will table the province’s 2026 Budget in the Western Cape Provincial Parliament.

“We are working hard to deliver a budget focussed on jobs and growth, while ensuring that residents can live with dignity and feel safe in their communities. Your views are important to this process and I encourage residents to share ideas and suggestions that can help us strengthen our spending priorities for the year ahead,” said Minister Baartman.

Premier Alan Winde will deliver the State of the Province Address on 25 February 2026, setting out the Western Cape Government’s programme of action for the new financial year. “The provincial budget will outline how the Premier’s programme of action will be funded to meet the province’s long-term economic and social goals. But we cannot, and will not, make these funding commitments without your input,” said Minister Baartman.

“This is not government’s money, it is the people’s money, and the people of the Western Cape must, and will, have a say in how we spend it,” said Minister Baartman.

Residents can submit their suggestions through the following link: https://forms.office.com/r/FZNLpnnczy or share their inputs on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok using the #BudgetWithDeidre hashtag.

The deadline for public submissions is Wednesday, 4 March 2026.
