DSD invites NGOs to apply for funding for critical social services
The Western Cape Department of Social Development invites eligible NGOs to submit their funding proposals.
The Department issues this call every three years, and funding to the successful applicants will start in the 2027/28 financial year.
“Our partnerships with social sector NGOs ensure that our most vulnerable residents are cared for in dignified and supportive spaces. I encourage NGOs to make use of this opportunity,” said Western Cape Minister of Social Development, Jaco Londt.
Funding is available in the following DSD service categories:
- Older Persons
- Persons with Disabilities
- Care and Services to Families
- Child Care and Protection
- After School Care
- Social Crime Prevention
- Victim Empowerment
- Substance Abuse
- Child and Youth Care Centres
- Youth Development
- Sustainable Livelihoods
- Social Relief
Excluded from this round of applications are: residential facilities for older persons, residential facilities for persons with disabilities, and protective workshops for persons with disabilities. The Department will issue a separate call for proposals for these categories next year.
The specifications, guidelines, eligibility criteria, and application forms for each programme, and frequently asked questions are available on the DSD website www.westerncape.gov.za/cfp
Application deadline:
Applications close on Friday, 18 September at 4pm.
It is important that organisations get started on the application process as soon as possible. Due to the requirements of the Public Finance Management Act, the process is very comprehensive, and many supporting documents are required. Therefore, NGOs must give themselves enough time to gather the relevant information and documentation.
