Registration of educators

Description:

All qualified teachers need to register with the South African Council of Educators (SACE). You need to be registered with SACE if you want to be employed as a teacher in South Africa.

Instructions:

Teacher and learnerTo register, you need to apply to SACE, submit the required documentation

  • registration form
  • certified copies of your professional diploma or degree certificates
  • complete academic record
  • certified copy of your identity document
  • police clearance certificate/report
  • pay the registration fee.

SACE will register you and issue you with your registration certificate if your application is successful.

Fees:

South African applicants

Full registration: Professionally qualified educators: R200
Provisional registration: Student teachers: R200

Foreign applicants

Professionally qualified educators: R400
Foreign applicants: Student teachers: R400
