Technical Fault Causes Problems with Processing Information at Licensing/Registration Centres

11 January 2007
As a result of a Telkom data line problem the National Transport Information System www.enatis.com, or NaTIS as it is more commonly known, was not available at the following ity of Cape Town Licencing and Vehicle Registration Centres this morning. Telkom technicians traced the problem and restored the system at around 11:45. Only Hillstar was still off-line at the time of issuing this release.

Driver's Licence Centres:

Hillstar, Gallow's Hill, Milnerton and Atlantis

Vehicle Registration Centres:

Cape Town Civic Centre, Milnerton, Pinelands, Gugulethu, Plumstead, Retreat, Strandfontein, Wynberg and Fish Hoek

NaTIS is a system used by all the offices and/or appointed agents to execute the content of the National Road Traffic Act, 1996 (Act No 93 of 1996).

The information can unfortunately not be entered or retrieved manually. Candidates who had appointments for learner's or driver's licences could be tested, but it was not possible to make bookings.

The City regrets the inconvenience caused, but it was due to circumstances beyond our control.
