Talent Search On For Musicians And Bands In The West Coast

20 November 2015

The Western Cape Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport (DCAS) in collaboration with the Jazz on The Rocks Festival will be on a talent search in the West Coast for aspirant musicians.

This music contest is dedicated to aspiring musicians and bands in the West Coast. It aims to reveal hidden talent to the public and the media. The successful musicians will get an opportunity to showcase their talent at the 2016 Jazz on the Rocks Festival in Tietiesbaai as well as performing on stage at the Oh Dam Festival in Clanwilliam and many other events.

Upcoming musicians and bands will also have the opportunity to be exposed to a variety of training opportunities, including master classes with professional musicians and music business skills. Performing on the stage at events such as the Jazz on the Rocks and Oh Dam festivals will give them an opportunity to experience live performance in a professional way and meet music professionals, artists, programmers and producers.

Entries are reserved for the West Coast region and there are some superb prizes up for grabs. The first talent search will take place on Saturday 21 November 2015 at the West Coast Mall, and the second and third on Saturday 28 November 2015 and Saturday 5 December 2015, respectively, both at the Laguna Mall.
