The New Provincial Government Tenders Website: What You Had to Say

14 November 2011

The Western Cape Government recently launched a dedicated provincial tenders website, where the public can find information on open and awarded tenders as well as help and advice on how to bid for a tender.

E-Government for Citizens, the directorate responsible for launching the site, put together a questionnaire to find out what users thought of the new site.

Here are some of the results:

  • Over 80% of respondents thought that the website is easy to use, and 72% found the information on the site useful. Over 78% liked the new design, and almost 83% would recommend it to a friend.
  • While almost two-thirds of respondents found the information that they were looking for, 33.3% did not. We take this feedback very seriously and we're now busy with a project to include updated and easier-to-use content for the website. We are also adding a function to search for specific tenders, including the option to search for open and awarded tenders.
  • The majority of the users are small, medium and micro enterprises (SMMEs). These are among the main intended audience for the website.

Thank you to everyone who responded to the questionnaire. We've looked at all the comments and responses and we'll be adding even more functionality and information to the website based on all the feedback.

If you would like to send us some feedback on the new site, please complete the questionnaire. If you have any questions about the tenders website or want more information on tenders, please feel free to contact us.
